Third Grade

Our third grade program nurtures academic, spiritual, and social growth in a Christ-centered environment. Students build strong reading, writing, and language skills, learning to identify parts of speech and classify complete sentences. Math instruction emphasizes multiplication and division mastery, place value, fractions, basic geometry, time, money, and an introduction to algebra.

Science and social studies encourage curiosity and hands-on learning through projects on animals, plants, motion and force, matter, ecosystems, and habitats. Students explore technology in daily computer classes, practice typing skills, and deepen their understanding of states, capitals, continents, and oceans. A highlight of the year is the Great American Wax Museum presentation, where students creatively showcase their learning.

The third grade classroom is staffed with a full-time teacher and a full-time aide, allowing for small-group breakouts for leveled reading and math instruction. This dedicated support ensures that every learner — whether accelerated or in need of a little extra help — receives the attention and encouragement they need to thrive.
