Fifth Grade

Fifth grade is a year of tremendous growth as students prepare for middle school. In a Christ-centered environment, students strengthen their academic, spiritual, and social skills while exploring new challenges in reading, writing, math, science, and history. By year-end, students will have mastered advanced math concepts—including multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, algebra, and geometry—while developing strong writing and word-processing skills to create and publish documents.

Hands-on learning and interactive projects, such as the spring science fair, allow students to formulate hypotheses, conduct experiments, and share results. Students also participate in special programs like Paws to Read at the SPCA and serve as ambassadors for Operation Christmas Child, fostering character, compassion, and leadership. Literature studies span imaginative worlds such as Narnia and Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, stimulating creativity and critical thinking.
