Our Curriculum Philosophy
Dynamic & Responsive
We intentionally select curriculum and instructional materials that align with our academic standards and Christian worldview while honoring the diverse ways students learn. Our goal is always to teach students how to think, not what to think — engaging visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners through meaningful experiences that build genuine understanding. As educational resources evolve, we continually refine our curriculum to ensure students have access to the most effective and engaging tools available.
Annual Review & Excellence
Our curriculum undergoes annual evaluation by our Academic Dean and the curriculum review team to assess effectiveness, alignment with standards, and student outcomes. This ongoing process ensures we consistently deliver excellence in education and exceed accreditation standards set by ACSI and NEASC.
AimsWeb+ Assessment System
CCA utilizes AimsWeb+, a comprehensive benchmarking and progress monitoring system for Pre-K–12 students. This research-based platform helps us quickly identify students who may need additional support, monitor individual progress throughout the year, and predict performance on grade-level expectations. AimsWeb+ provides valuable data in foundational reading and math skills, enabling our teachers to make informed instructional decisions and ensure every student receives the support they need to succeed. Current students are assessed three times per school year. The assessment is also used during intake of new students.
Advanced Learning Opportunities
Our Honors Program in 7th and 8th grade challenges students to deepen their critical thinking and academic skills. Middle school students also have the opportunity to earn two high school credits in Spanish I and Algebra I, giving them a head start on their high school coursework and positioning them to take full advantage of the Dual Credit program in their Junior and Senior years.
Our Honors Program for grades 7–12 inspires motivated and academically gifted students to think deeply, lead confidently, and pursue academic excellence with purpose. Designed to challenge and elevate, the program sharpens critical thinking and prepares students for rigorous upper-level work. Middle school students in the 8th grade may earn high school credit in Spanish I and Algebra I—gaining momentum, confidence, and a strategic academic advantage. This intentional pathway positions students to fully embrace Dual Credit opportunities in their junior and senior years and to step boldly into the future.
Teacher-Driven Innovation
Curriculum development is an integral part of our professional development program. Our teachers are actively involved in curriculum selection, evaluation, implementation, training, and peer review to deliver the sharpest, most cohesive classroom instruction and ensure it remains fresh, relevant, and effective.
