A Nurturing Community

Our Elementary School consists of children in Kindergarten through Fifth grade. We offer a wonderful combination of experiences where the age groups interact with one another during special events, as well as enjoy the smaller atmosphere of relationships within their age group. For example, each morning the Elementary School aged children, Faculty and Staff participate in a "community building" School Assembly. During this brief gathering, announcements are made, student achievements commended, as well as updates about significant events going on in our world (with sensitive consideration given to the span of ages present).

We offer both half day and a full day option for Kindergarten, as well as after school care through our Quest Program with is included in the tuition. (We strongly suggest that children be age 5 prior to October 1st before consideration into our kindergarten program.) (Click here to read FAQs relative to Kindergarten.

WELL-ROUNDED LEARNING
In addition to the mainstream curriculum of Math, Language, Science, and Social Studies, all of our Elementary aged children are given instruction in the various Specials we provide: Bible, Spanish, Computers, Art, Music and Gym. We believe by providing our younger children with this early training, we are setting them up for maximum retention and utilization of the material in their upper grade years, and beyond. This is most true in the area of Computers where the need for literacy within a variety of software is vital for future success. Not only do they learn Word Processing, and Spreadsheet work, but also the basics of database management, desktop publishing, utilizing the internet and website design.

TRANSITIONING TO MIDDLE SCHOOL
When students enter the sixth grade, we provide them with an expanding transition into Middle School. That is we provide various opportunities for gradual integration into the academic culture of the upper grades. For instance, students have a few classes to which they travel to the teacher's classroom, giving them the experience of managing their books and binders away from one desk location. We believe this diminishes many unknowns for them at the time of full entry into Middle School the next year - a time already riddled with much apprehension - emotionally and otherwise.

PREPARED FOR THE FUTURE
It is our desire to see children and youth raised to honor and respect our Creator God, and in turn, to whom and that which He loves and has made. The educational focus at Concord Christian is not only centered around this theme, but in preparing students to go out into the world as well, to be exceptional models of people who are diligent workers, and know how to apply their particular strengths and talents to that which they're given to accomplish, and to know a spirit of joy while doing it!
