LOOKING AHEAD: THE FUTURE VISION AT CCA
In the Spring of 2006, after nearly 30 years of affiliation with First Baptist Church of Concord (now known as CenterPoint Church), Concord Christian School (CCS) was fresh on its way to becoming a transformed entity. In July, 2006, with an inspired, determined Board of Trustees behind it, CCS was released to independence by CenterPoint Church and renamed Concord Christian Academy.

So much has transpired since that day. Countless people have earnestly prayed for God to bless this school over the years and kindly, He has. In recent years, doors have opened for CCA to build on its 30+ year legacy and expand its vision, its programs, its school offerings, and its campus.

As we look ahead we see the continued effort to further establish facilities which will serve our student body and their families in even greater ways. Our immediate need is for a gymnasium.

Academically we have very strong Elementary program serving Pre-K (ages 3-5) through 5th grade. Our Middle and High School programs are solid programs as well, providing our teen students with all the study skills they'll need to move into the college arena. In addition, we are consulting with higher institutions both locally and nationally with whom we can partner to provide Dual Credit courses to our Junior and Seniors next year. The plan is to graduate students with at least one year of college credit under their belt so they have more options when it comes to college studies.

CURRICULUM
Our goal at CCA is to partner with parents in providing a Christ-centered education that is both scholastically excellent and Biblically distinctive. We are fully accredited with the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), providing classes in the following for every student: Math, English, Social Science, Studies/History, Health and Bible. In addition, each student attends the following Specials: computers, Spanish, art, music, and physical education.

In the early grades (K-2) we mainly utilize Abeka Books materials. Although this is a Christian curriculum, its strength with regard to phonics is the main reason we choose to use it as it is well known for its thorough coverage of this foundational element. In grades 3 and up, we utilize a variety of curriculums, secular and Christian. We have selected the best of the best in each concentration, applying a Christian worldview in the teaching. Among these are Shirley Grammar, Singapore Math, Handwriting Without Tears, Saxon, Prentice Hall, Holt and Rinehart, and Winston, Curriculum Associates, etc.

It is our desire to raise up students prepared to one day encounter a world in their workplace and neighborhood which they will understand and are well equipped to respond to with love. It is in these formative years that this kind of training, in tandem with the efforts of family and Church, take full root.

You may click on the Department you are interested in on the right side bar to learn specifics about concentrations each grade level.

CHARACTER AND COMMUNITY
In a culture where "having the most stuff" is the goal for many people, at CCA we press the model of Jesus Christ -- who lead by SERVING. In a culture where Truth is so up for grabs, we press the message of Jesus Christ -- which gives PURPOSE to the human soul. In a culture where divisions of values, ethnicity, and status keep people from engaging with one another, we press the life of Jesus Christ -- which death COULD NOT hold back. His mission was to reveal LOVE and the power of FORGIVENESS.

These core themes are interwoven into the daily routines of each day at CCA. Like any school, misunderstandings and hurt feelings occur among students. But we aim to deal with them quickly, with a goal for resolution. Where students are experiencing personal challenges whether academically, emotionally, or relationally, we want them to feel the care of adults and students around them (the heart of their Heavenly Father). When there is a success in sports, or other notable achievements, we celebrate them as God's grace to us.

You may read about highlights pertaining to each of the grade levels by clicking on the appropriate school age designation in the right side bar links (Pre-K, Elementary=K-5, Middle=6-8, High=9-12). Many of your questions should be answered within these materials. Please read through the information carefully and, if you have further questions, e-mail or call our office at 228-8888. We are glad to be of assistance.
